Ad hoc win7(host) winXP(client). Cannot ping!

Hi. I'm trying to set up an ad hoc between my win7 and xp. i can connect both computers to ad hoc and wireless adapters both show that they are connected. But the problem is that these two pc's can't see each other if i ping. I've given them static IPs.

    PC1 (host):
    IP address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.0.2

    PC2 (client):
    IP address: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.0.1

    Any help???

You can try to set up the Internet Connection Sharing(ICS) on the host computer(the computer whose Internet connection you plan to share):

    1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.

    2. Right-click the connection that you want to share, and then click Properties. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Click the Sharing tab, and then select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.

    More information here.
