    How to remove virus/rootkit infection

From last 3 days I am trying to get rid of a virus/rootkit infection in my computer. This virus arrived when I was surfing on the internet. It makes my computer extremely slow. When I click on any application it just take really long time to open up. I am quiet not able to figure out how can I stop this thing. It is very annoying and I had tried a lot of options to get rid of the same but it fails to work. I want some help to fix this thing.

It can be removed by using a good antivirus. You have to scan your system for the same. And you can do that in safe mode. I am quiet sure that will be more helpful. Just download a popular antivirus and then scan your pc with the same. It is necessary that you have to update the antivirus also. And remove your existing one. If this does not help then you have to simply format your pc. You have to install windows back again from scratch.

Re: How to remove virus/rootkit infection

Rootkits are programs that install on your computer while keeping themselves and their activities hidden to remain invisible to the use. They represent a significant security risk on both home computers and company networks and are notoriously difficult to find and remove. Rootkits themselves are normally installed by a virus or other type of malware infection and it is therefore highly recommended that computer users have up to date antivirus/anti-spyware software installed and running on their computer.

You have to terminate the rootkit process from system process. Look for the process which I have stated below:
    Running processes:
    • C:\WINDOWS\javapanel.exe
    • C:\WINDOWS\taskcntr.exe
    • C:\WINDOWS\System32\xpjava.exe

McAfee have launched their McAfee Rootkit Detective 1.0, and that is developed to help through detection and deletion of hard to locate rootkit infestations.
    • There are some features of McAfee Rootkit Detective 1.0
    • It is developed to proactively spot the system objects like processes, files and registry that are hidden to the user.
    • It offers information regarding all running processes in the system.
    • Makes it enable the user to end the malicious processes.
