Macbooks and Macbook Pro not connecting to Wifi.

I am facing a weird problem with the Dlink wireless router which I am using. I have 2 Macbooks and 1 Macbook Pro which are installed with Mac OS X 10.4 on it. I am not able to access Internet on any of the Macbooks. All the devices show the status as connected but the Internet is not accessible on any of the Macbooks. So if anybody knows why Macbooks and Macbook Pro not connecting to Wifi then please share some information. Thanks in advance.

As you are not able to connect any of the Macbook or Macbook pro to the router, check the network preferences of all the network devices. If there are any changes in the preferences to be made, do it and save th configuration. After changing the preferences of all the devices, check if you are able to connect to the router or not.

Follow the steps below and see if it works.
    • Power down the Macbooks.
    • Press and hold P, R, Apple and Option key while booting
    • Keep the keys pressed for till 3 startup chimes are heard.
    • Release the keys at 3rd Start up chime and let the Macbook boot normally.
Connect the Macbook to the router and see if the Internet is accessible on the Macbook or not.

The new Mac operating systems sometimes do not work with some of the Wireless bands and can be the reason behind your problem. Check the wireless band which is supported by the operating system installed on the macbook and change the operating band of the router accordingly. You will be able to connect to the router and use the Internet on the Macbook after changing the operating wireless band.

According to me the router which you are using is faulty and hence the internet connectivity is not working. The router is responsible for providing the internet connection to all the devices on the router and hence if the router itself is faulty, then the internet will not be accessible on the network. Get the router checked and if faulty, get it replaced.
