We have a small network on the private range 192.168.1 which has a server running ISA as a gatway and firewall. The phone providor added a IP PABX with phones running on the same network but the phones have 10.1.1.X IPs. They also added a second internet gateway for VOIP data (not through ISA) on the 192.168.1 range. The second internet connection is so the VOIP traffic doesn't interfer/reduced bandwidth of the main internet connection. The reason the two networks have to connect is for tapi.
From my networking experience this seems like it has just made ISA a waste of time. However the default gatway is still going to point to ISA so maybe it is no that bad? It also does not seem to make sence to my to run two different IP ranges on one network and I would have expected the second internet conenction to be on the 10.1.1.1 range and a firewall/router connecting to the 192.168.1 range because isn't traffic going to be getting confused with two IP ranges on the one vlan/network segment? Am I wrong?
