which process tell RMAN to take auto recovery

For understanding the concepts of recovery option , you need to know the whole procedure related to the instance recovery and I don't think, there is any special process do the same.

When a instance is running upon in the database environment, a process always performs the recovery (instance recovery) when some undo associated data get losses from the appropriate memory locations.. The SMON is responsible for such task .

    Thanks

Re: which process tell RMAN to take auto recovery

Recovery manager is a software utility for the purpose of the restoration across multiple server. As far as I know there is no specific process that can be used for the purpose of recovery. Since the RMAN is itself a recovery program not a process.
