    Apache2 httpd conflict

    Hello,
Here is my problem. I am using Debian Linux operating system. I have an apache server running fine on port 80
    Code:
    # Netstat-nap | grep LISTEN | grep 80
    tcp6 0 0::: 80::: * LISTEN 5624/apache2
    # ps aux | grep apache2
    www-data 5624 0.0 1.3 89532 6940? 8:58 S 0:00 / usr / sbin/apache2-k start
    root 7989 0.0 1.8 89400 9596? Ss Apr25 0:00 / usr/sbin/apache2-k start
    www-data 23843 0.0 1.3 89532 6968? 8:11 S 0:00 / usr/sbin/apache2 - k start
    www-data 23988 0.0 1.4 90576 7792? 8:11 S 0:00 / usr/sbin/apache2-k start
    www-data 24353 0.0 1.4 90576 7804? 8:44 S 0:00 / usr/sbin/apache2 - k start
    www-data 25756 0.0 1.4 90576 7792? 8:46 S 0:00 / usr/sbin/apache2-k start
The problem is that I also have a suspicious processes running:
    Code:
    # Ps aux | grep httpd
    www-data 32308 0.0 0.1 2152 832? 2:58 S 0:04 / usr / sbin / httpd-k start-DSSL
I think the problem is with Apache web server. If you know what this is then please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
httpd is Apache, besides you have a httpd.conf in / etc/apache2. I did not answer, but it's probably in apache to look for the cause of your misery. Are you using IPv6? See if apache does not start as an address in ipv6? You should perhaps have somewhere a small "*: 80" overpayment that you put. I hope this information will help you.

    Hello,
But the binary apache 2 it apache2 and not httpd. It's really weird that you're a httpd, / usr / sbin / httpd does not exist in the etch repository. You should not compiled an Apache or applie having one? If not, check the system log if you got traces of its launch. You can always do a "ps-ef | grep httpd-i" to get the parent process and see that it is (init?)

    Hello,
Indeed httpd not currently in custody. But I think that was the httpd binary apache, right? It is possible that this is the "residue" of a previous installation. I may be wrong but I remember seeing at the time of binary called httpd under etch. apache-1 .* apache and was named apache-2 .* was called apache2. Perhaps there was an upgrade an older version?

    Hello,
I do not have all the details but mentioned lol httpd.conf in / etc/apache2 is empty and used (has been?) As when the transition from apache to apache2. Now the conf that was originally in httpd.conf should be in / etc/apache2/apache2.conf or something of the same style. From what I read httpd <=> Apache. If you have an old version of apache which trails I advise you to show him the door. Otherwise if you do not want more than the httpd starts, it will probably go poking about in / etc / rc [2-5]. D and see if one of these runlevels (2-5) you have an "old" Apache still lingers with your apache2, which is activated as well.
