    T135-S1309 Intermittent Wireless Connectivity

I have recently bought a Toshiba T135-S1309 Laptop which is installed with Windows 7 operating system. The wireless card which is installed on the laptop is realtek b/g/n. The problem which I am facing is that the Wireless connection works fine when the laptop is plugged in to AC source but it keeps on dropping the connection when the laptop is used on the battery mode. I cant figure out what is causing such problem and hence need your help. So if anybody else is facing similar problems with T135-S1309 Intermittent Wireless Connectivity then please share some information. Any help is highly appreciated.

Check if the router which you are using to connect the laptop is configured properly or not. If the router is not configured then the laptop will not be able to connect to the router or to maintain the connectivity. To check if the router is configured properly or not, login to the router and go to the configuration page. Get the appropriate settings for the router and see if the router is configured according to the settings. If there are any changes to be made, do it and save the configuration. Reboot the router and see if the Wireless network works properly or not.

Windows 7 has lot of compatibility issues with many of the devices and hence lot of devices do not work properly in Windows 7 operating system. The compatibility issue rises due to unavailability of proper drivers for the device. You will have to download the appropriate drivers for the network card which are supported by Windows 7 operating system. Go to the manufacturer website and download the latest drivers which are available for the model of the device which you are using and which is supported by Windows 7. Install the drivers and see if the wireless network works properly or not.

The network card is responsible for establishing and maintaining the network connection. Hence if the network card is not working properly then the laptop will not be able to establish or maintain the connection. All the network cards have a software interface configured which can be used for testing. To check the NIC, click on start menu and select RUN. Type "ping 127.0.0.1" in the run tab and hit enter. Check the error in data sent and received. Ideally there should be no error in data sent and received. If there is any error then the NIC is faulty and needs to be replaced.

As the Wireless network works properly when AC adapter is plugged in and disconnects when the laptop is made to work on battery, I suspect it is due to power saving mode of the laptop when the power source is switched to battery. By default the network card with perform in battery saving mode when the power source is changed. You will have to select the maximum performance mode. To configure the network card, go to device manager and select Wireless device. Now remove the check mark from "Let Windows manage this device" and apply the settings. Now go to power setting and select Advanced settings, set the wireless card under battery power to maximum performance instead of moderate/battery saving mode. Now save and apply the settings. Check the performance of the wireless card on battery.

I went to device manager and removed the check mark from the option which says "Let Windows manage wireless card" and also put the wireless card in maximum performance mode and now the Wireless connection works properly on battery mode and the rate of dropping of connection is very low. Thanks for solving the problem.
