    DC and Exchange via Hyper-v

    Hello friends,
I want to install domain controller and exchange server through Hyper-v on my computer. Can anyone tell me which is better option from following if you use DC and Exchange via Hyper-v
    1. First install Win 2008 r2 and Hyper-v role and then made 2 virtualized servers like 1 for DC and second one is for Exchange.
    or
2.First install Win 2008 r2 and Hyper-v role. after this made DC on the Windows 7 where you have Hyper-v server, After this create 1 virtualized operating system for exchange.

As per my knowledge option 1 that is First install Win 2008 r2 and Hyper-v role and then made 2 virtualized servers like 1 for DC and second one is for Exchange is better one. I think there is only one role in the parent partition and it is called as Hyper-v role. So you can go for first option.
I hope this will help you.

Hey I also think that first option one is better than second one. If I have the configuration like you then I would make the remote system the non-domain member. So that it can not have "chicken and egg" like situation in VM. Just use first option that is "First install Win 2008 r2 and Hyper-v role and then made 2 virtualized servers like 1 for DC and second one is for Exchange." for your system.

Hey before selecting proper option for your computer, first try to Understand Networking with Hyper-V. Without basic information about it you can set up your configuration properly. You can get more information about how to setup Network with Hyper-V in the following link. Just go there and try to understand it.

Hey I think most of the people would prefer first option that is "First install Win 2008 r2 and Hyper-v role and then made 2 virtualized servers like 1 for DC and second one is for Exchange", but if you are using only these systems in your domain then you have to use hyper -v in the workgroup and then made the DC as a VM.
