ASUS WL600G Cannon Printer Issue

Hi, I have an Asus WL-600g and Canon LBP 3010B printer. My router recognizes the printer. But I can not print any pages. The printer interface says: "the port to which the printer is connected, is not supported, check the port."

I set up the port to my router IP (192.168.1.1) with LPR protocol with guids in the WL-600 manual.

As per your query it seems that you router is not supporting the printer or having the driver issue. So to get rid of the same go through the below given step that is having the solution for your problem.

• Click on Start
• Double Click on Control Panel
• Open Hardware and Sound
• Right Click on Printer
• Click on the "run as administrator"
• Click on Properties
• Click on Advance
• Click on New driver
• Install the new driver from the CD or given path.

I need some information before I suggest you anything:

1. What is the router's gateway? Is it 192.168.1.1 as you given in your post? If you are unsure, look into your router by directly connecting it to one of your pc and go to Network Connection. Double click on the Local Area Connection and go to Status tab. You will get the IP address of the Default Gateway (which is nothing but your router's gateway address) if you have ip configuration set to DHCP.

2. Did you assigned any IP to your printer or you set your router at DHCP to automatically assign the IP addresses to the devices? What is the IP address of the printer?

3. Did you checked different ports of the router or switch/hub to which you connected your printer?
