    xp machine can't see windows 7 machine

    Hello to all,
    I am having this problem from the last week. I able to see and access Windows xp machine from the computer which has windows 7 installed, but I unable to access windows 7 machine from the windows xp computer. I don't know why xp machine can't see windows 7 machine? Anyone else having the same problem. Please help me.

    You can use following steps to fix this problem.
    1.First you have disable firewall on both the machine.
    2.Now download and install Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder package on Windows XP machine. To get this click here.
    3.Make sure that services like Computer Browser, Server, Workstation are started on both machine.
    4.Now you have to change relevant settings on Windows 7 computer.
    a. First open "Control Panel"
    b. Now double click on the "Network and Sharing Center" and then select
    "Advanced sharing settings".
    c.Now expand the current network profile and then choose following options:
    • "Turn on Network Discovery",
    • "Turn on file and printer sharing",
    • "Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders",
    • "Turn off password protected sharing"

    5. Now you have to write the computer name for Windows 7.
    Now go to start button -> now open Run in Windows XP and then type "\\Windows 7 computer name" and press enter. Now you able to access Windows 7 computer from Windows XP .

    You have to use following steps to fix this problem.
    1.First check that whether both computers are part of the same Workgroup.
    2.On the Windows 7 computer, go to the Control Panel -> Now go to the "All Control Panel Items" -> Now go to the "Network and Sharing Center" -> now click on the "Change advanced sharing settings".
    3.Now check that whether all first options are selected or not.
    4.Now turn off password protection.
    5.Now try to go into Network in Windows 7. From there you will able to see Windows xp computer and vice versa.

    You have to use following setting on the windows xp computer to fix this problem.
    1.First go to Windows Explorer option -> Now go to Tools menu -> Now go to Folder Options -> now go to view -> now go to " Use simple file sharing" and Uncheck it -> now close the dialogue box.
    2.Now right click on the My computer and select manage.
    3.Now open Computer Management option –>Now go to System Tools –> Now go to Shared Folders –> Now go to Shares and open the folder to list the shares.
    4.Now look out for the share in question -> select it and right click on it and then select Properties –> Now select Shared Permissions.
    5.Now look out for the "group Everyone" in the Share Permission. If it is not present, then add it and checked all three permissions: Full Control, Change and Read.

    You have to use following steps to fix this problem.
    1.First go to start button -> now open search option and then type “regedit” in it.
    2.Now go to the following location.

    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\
    3.In the right hand side look out for the following key.

    Code:
    RestrictAnonymousSAM
    4.Now change its value to “0”.
