Does 802.11b and 802.11g are compabtible with new OS

I want to know that does the network standards 802.11b and 802.11g is Compatible with other hardware’s and new operating systems. I had faced an issue when I try to connect my laptop to a network and nothing works here though everything was fine. On the other hand what is the actually speed of this network standards. In my case the network is very slow.

An 802.11b customer determine to get no improved network presentation associated to an 802.11g router (access point), than it does when associated to an 802.11b router. Such a correlation is inadequate by the speed of the 802.11b adapter. An 802.11g customer determines the familiarity slower network presentation associated to an 802.11b router than to an 802.11g router. Such a correlation is inadequate by the speed of the 802.11b router.

When together 802.11b and 802.11g customers are associated to an 802.11g router, the presentation of the 802.11g customers is able to experience. In the worst case, all 802.11g customers determine to be slow down to have the similar network speed as the 802.11b customers. Additional characteristically the 802.11g customers experience a number of degradation in presentation, but they still execute noticeably faster than their 802.11b counterparts.

The similar encryption has to be used on the entire apparatus on the Wi-Fi network. The 802.11g apparatus often hold up additional superior encryption alternative than older 802.11b apparatus. For illustration, a number of 802.11g routers and network adapters maintain WPA, but a lot of 802.11g products only maintain the weaker WEP. Stronger encryption alternative cannot be used on the 802.11g apparatus if the 802.11b paraphernalia does not maintain them.

In summary, the 802.11b and 802.11g apparatus is able to contribute to a Wi-Fi LAN. If it is set up correctly, the network determines the function properly and performs at practical speeds. Mixing 802.11b and 802.11g gear is able to save money on apparatus upgrades in the short term. An all-802.11g network presents the most excellent wireless presentation and is a worthy long term goal for homeowners to think regarding.

The 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi networking customary are usually companionable. An 802.11b router /right of entry point determine and run with 802.11g network adapters and vice versa. The hypothetical peak bandwidth of an 802.11b wireless correlation is 11 Mbps. This is the presentation numeral advertised on 802.11b Wi-Fi apparatus that numerous people equate with the predictable "speed" of a network. The characteristic peak throughput (constant information rate) of an 802.11b wireless correlation under ideal conditions for end user information is in point of fact 4-5 Mbps.
