Make sure you can see two lights on the entire cable network. On the computer side follow the cable network in your network card which is usually in the back of your computer. The port looks like a phone port large. Note that there are 2 lights on each side of the harbor. If it is working correctly you will see the lights around the cable. The color of the lights vary, but will definitely be able to realize when turned on. Replace the network card. If your computer is under warranty, call your computer manufacturer and tell them what troubleshooting you did and he thinks it is a network card.

Make sure the cable network is securely connected to the computer. If there is light there is a problem. But before going any further make sure the cable is connected securely. Just unplug the cable network and connect it until you hear a click. The lights around the cable into the network card going? If so reboot and you should be good to go. Make sure both devices are connected to the network. If neither light is on. Try a cable network. If you need to go to the store to ask for a Category 5 straight through cable network.

Make sure there is power to the router. If you are connected and no light check and make sure the router is switched up.You should see the light at less power. If no power then power up. Has the light where the cable connects network going? If so reboot and you should be good to go. If the light when connecting the cable network does not come on check the cable to make sure it is secure. Once again, just unplug the cable network and then plug it back until it clicks. Has the light where the cable connects network going? If so reboot and that should work for you.

Try to get the Internet. If the lights are on the network card and light of the router which connects the cable network is trying to go to a website. If you can not then contact your service provider. The service provider is the person you get your Internet service. Just get a bill of age, look in the phone book or get online. Tell them what is happening and what has been done to fix the problem. Also make sure that they will not charge for anything before talking to them. They must above all because in this case is most likely a result of your computer or network. Make sure your network card is working.
