Can't remove Trojan.Agent/Gen-Polax

I am using an acer aspire laptop running with windows Vista operating system. I would like to know whether Trojan.Agent/Gen-Polax virus is harmful. I can't remove Trojan.Agent/Gen-Polax from my system. I am using the quick heal total security antivirus and it seems as it not effective in removing the threat.
