    How to Choose MultiLayer Switch

    Hi all

I am working in the networking industry engineer. We can say that directly determine the user requirements of the equipment purchases. In making the user requirements, from a plane to make a reasonable point of view of equipment purchase. Then how should choose Layer Switch. Please suggest . Thanks in advance.

You need to check Backplane bandwidth that refers to the exchange machine interface processor or interface cards and data bus throughput between the maximum amount of data available. A switch, if possible to achieve full-duplex non-blocking switching, then its value should be greater than the port backplane bandwidth of the total number of × largest port bandwidth × 2. If more than to prove that this switch has a maximum data exchange conditions. Check and reply.

Re: How to Choose Layer Switch

In addition to backplane bandwidth, throughput, etc., port speed is also an important indicator to measure the switch. Now the port speed: 10M, 10/100M, 1000M, 10/100/1000M. The corresponding physical properties of the interface are also different. Select a specific switch to pay attention to high-speed port of the port on behalf of the higher value. If no explicit demand for the near future, users should choose the 10/100M port access switch, while the backbone switch for ease of choice by virtue of wiring 1000M GBIC ports or 10/100/1000M RJ45 ports. All the best.

    How to Choose Layer Switch

You can use Port density that is a measure of the number of ports, it is said that a switch can contain a maximum number of ports. Greater port density switch, its single-port costs can be smaller. Backplane bandwidth is not fully reflect the real switch ability to work, but also the throughput of the switch of this important indicator. When selecting the switch backplane bandwidth and swallow the general must take into account the rate of synthesis. Check and reply.

    How to Choose Layer Switch

There are three ways to exchange: Cut-through, Store and forward, Fragment free. In fact, this exchange methods are mainly three kinds of anti-jamming performance of the switch capacity, speed and anti-jamming in the balance. If the work environment is more severe, strong electromagnetic interference, it should select Store and forward switches. If the work environment such as the launch pad principle of strong radiation sources, you can choose Cut-through switches. If you can not accurately confirm the work environment, while the speed is not very demanding, you can choose Fragment free. Some high-level switches can be set up to convert each of these three operating modes. All the best.

Re: How to Choose Layer Switch

LAN networks have now than in the past only transmit data, but voice and video applications to join, it also created a hidden switch from the purchase date, the switching capability is defined, and video applications such as bandwidth The demand is unlimited, not to mention the network there is the need to protect the business needs of transmission, when QoS is particularly important. It can be important business to keep bandwidth and capacity to the extent permitted within the reasonable needs of a variety of applications with the bandwidth. All the best.
