This is not a very critical virus and hence i would suggest you to remove this virus with the help of the avast antivirus only since this antivirus is a very good when it comes to virus removal also it appears as you havn't updated the virus definition of the avast antivirus. I would recommend you to update the virus definition.

You can remove this by simply opening the Task Manager by pressing ALT+CTRL+DELETE. Try to end all tghe processes similar to rend.exe and the remove the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Windows from the registry Editor and no restart the system this should definitely remove the virus.

I think that you are not able to remove the virus because either you are using the trial or demo version of the antivirus program and hence the avast antivirus progaram is not able to remove the virus . Try to use the AVG 9 Free edition which is also available freely if you want you can download it from the link which i had given.

If you are cannot remove it using an antivirus application i will suggest you to follow the steps which i have mentioned below:

  1. Open Task Manager by pressing CTRL + ALT + Delete keys
  2. use End Process in Processes tab on [rand].exe
  3. Now open the run box and enter "REGEDIT" and then click OK.
  4. Remove the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Windows and update it.
  5. Delete %system%\[rand].exe
  6. Reboot the machine.
