Check if the drivers for the network adapter are installed and working properly. All the devices which are connected to the computer require a set of drivers to be installed on the computer so that the device works properly. If the drivers are not installed then the device will not work properly. To check if the drivers are installed and working properly, right click on My computer and then select Device manager. Highlight the network adapter and see if there are any caution signs. If there are any caution signs then try doing a troubleshooting. If the troubleshooting does not help, then try and update the drivers of the network adapter. |

| Re: Wireless connection disconnects when Ipod is connected to the computer
I think the router is having some problems that is why the disconnection of network is happening. The DHCP on the router is responsible for assigning IP addresses to the devices which are connected to the router using DHCP. If the DHCP of the router itself is not working properly then the router will not be able to assign IP addresses to the computer which is connected to it using Wireless connection. If such a situation arises, then the device connected will not be able to access all the network resources or will get disconnected frequently. Therefore check if the router is working properly and then only do the further troubleshooting. |

| Re: Wireless connection disconnects when Ipod is connected to the computer
It is possible that the version of the Itunes which you are using to synchronize the Ipod is corrupt and is conflicting with some system files because of which the disconnection is occurring. The applications which are installed on the computer have lot of files which are associated to it. If any of the files of the application gets corrupt then the application will not work properly and will create problems like the one which you are facing. Uninstall the currently installed version of Itunes from the computer and remove all the files and keys related to the application. Once all the traces of the application are removed from the computer, reinstall the application and see if the problem still persists or not. |

| Re: Wireless connection disconnects when Ipod is connected to the computer
Try resetting the Ipod and then check if the wireless connection disconnects when the Ipod is connected to the computer or not. Ipod works on the software which is known as firmware, like any other software the firmware of the Ipod can also get stuck. If the firmware of the Ipod gets stuck then it will not be detected by the computer and will give rise to such problem. Resetting the Ipod and then connecting it to the computer, might solve the problem. Press and hold the Menu and Center click button. Keeps the button pressed till Apple logo appears. Once the apple logo appears, release the buttons and let the Ipod start. Connect the Ipod to the computer and check if the network still gets disconnected.

| Re: Wireless connection disconnects when Ipod is connected to the computer
I would suggest you to scan the Ipod with an updated antivirus as there is high possibility that the Ipod is corrupted with some virus. Some Virus have tendency to broadcast unnecessary information on the communication channel. This can lead to the communication channel to flood. If the communication channel gets flooded then the router disconnects the port from which broadcasts are coming. Hence scan the system with an updated antivirus and see if there are any infected files. Remove all the infected files from the Ipod and then connect the Ipod to the computer. Hopefully the problem would be solved.
