internet and email security

Hi,
I use mozilla firefox and have yahoo email. What are the preferred
security tools available (firewall, anti-spamming, anti-virus,
privacy) for these two programs. I have a toshiba laptop with core duo
2050 processor and one gig of ram. I'm using verizon dsl for internet
access.

You can use Zonealarm firewall which uses very less resources of the system. Also for an Antivirus you can use AVG which is available for free online. Both this security software's use very less resources of the system and hence will not slow down the performance of the computer.
