iDisk Error code -5016

Hi,

When I try to connect to your iDisk on Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, the following warning message : "Your iDisk is not available because connecting to the iDisk server failed. An error occurred (code -5016)." This message occurs if I try to connect to your iDisk when you're not connected to the Internet. Sometime it occurs if I try to access your iDisk immediately after a period of sleep or after you changed your Internet connection.

If you receive an error -5016, you must first verify that you can connect to the Internet. To test your connectivity, you can simply visit a website popular as apple.com. If you can not connect to apple.com / uk and if you are experiencing connection problems with other applications that depend on the network, such as Mail, iChat, iDisk, you need troubleshoot your Internet connection.

If you do not see error messages other applications, but still receive an error -5016 when trying to connect to iDisk, or if you recently made changes to the Internet connection of your computer, for example after a period of sleep or after changing the internet connection (eg Ethernet AirPort), it is possible that you had to wait a few minutes before trying to connect to your iDisk.

1. From the menu AppleSelected Close Session.
2. Open a new session.

You should be able to connect to your iDisk. However, if the problem persists, please follow the steps below:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on MobileMe.
3. Click Log Off.
4. Re-enter your account name and password MobileMe.
5. Log in to your iDisk.

The Finder connects to your iDisk as your Web browser connects to web pages. If usually you can connect to web pages on the Internet, you should be able to connect to iDisk in the Finder. You must have a dependable Internet connection if you want to connect to your iDisk. If Finder does not connect to iDisk reliably, other applications that interact with iDisk and MobileMe could be affected. These applications and activities include Backup, MobileMe synchronization and publishing to MobileMe from iPhoto, iMovie and iWeb.
