    Cannot connect to port 5555

    Hello friends,

    I think port 5555 is not working on my machine, till my knowledge port 5555 is being used by virus and malware and some other sites like youtube, gmail etc for sending and receiving data, because of which i am not able to download any thing from youtube, gmail. I had asked my friends about it but they also don't have nay idea, any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

    Sure i will help you out with this but before that i have to ask you come question which would be very helpful for solving your issue like are you connected to a router on a network, from when are you facing this issue and is there any hardware issue because it might happen that if there is any hardware issue, then also you get port 5555 error.

    Thank you Ameya for replying me, i had a check there is no hardware issue and at the same time my system is also virus free. I am not connected to a router, my system is is connected to a switches that is connected to the cable modem. Do you think reinstalling my operating system will help me out ?

    In your case it seems that you have not open the port in the Windows firewall, because of which you are not able to connect to port 5555 and at the same time see to that the program that you are trying to use is that port is also allowed through the Windows firewall and at the same time i would suggest you to install router in your place.

    Information about port 5555

    Mostly TCP port 5555 is being used to communicate depending on which application are you using it. Normally a protocol is a set of formalized rules that explains how data is communicated over a network. Also make a note that TCP port 5555 uses Transmission Control Protocol. TCP is one of the main protocols in TCP/IP networks.
