    How Win32.Worm.Gimmiv.B arrives.

Actually Win32.Worm.Gimmiv.B arrives on a computer system via Win32/Gimmiv.A which downloads the CAB file called "initproc02x.cab" from the attacking IP address. When it comes to your computer then it comes with the some files namely winbase.dll, winbaseInst.exe, basesvc.dll, syicon.dll. When it gets executed then it will first of all copy itself to the registry so that it can be run at the start up.

Use firewall to stop malicious data.

Enabling the firewall on your windows system makes your operating system safe from the malicious data as it is kind of gateway through which every bit of data travels when it comes to your computer system. Even if any bit of data is corrupted then your firewall wil be warning you about the problem which can harm your computer. To enable the firewall on your computer go to the start menu and open control panel. Then click on the security and turn on the firewall. You may use third party firewall instead of doing this.

Use stronger password for user account.

When your computer gets infected by the virus then those worms might be able to send the informations abut your computer system to the attacker. And attacker will be trying to enter some random passwords to access your user account. I would suggest you to use strong password for your user account. You can make stronger password by by combining the alphabets and numbers in your password.
