From where can a hacker get the personal data in computer?

Hi there, As i heard that the hackers are being developing lots of the Trojan which will hack the computer and steal the personal data, i also worried about the same. So that makes me to know that "From where can a hacker get the personal data in computer?". So if any one have the idea bout the same can step forward and help me with the same so that i can protect my computer from the hackers. Thanks in advance
