    Problem with fax server

    I followed a tutorial from A to Z. I have the panel that appears in the sme but I also have this error

    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, admin and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    They told me to look in the "log" but I do not know where it is, then I tried to find the error but I did not get that.

    My sme is up-to-date and its version is 7.xx

    installation place is good, no errors, and I followed this tutorial:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Here is my method for sme server 7 and the fax panel

    wget ftp://ftp.hylafax.org/binary/linux/r...rhel4.i386.rpm
    yum -y --enablerepo=base --enablerepo=updates localinstall hylafax-4.2.5-1rhel4.i386.rpm

    rpm -ivh http://smerp.free.com/files/binaires...1-1.noarch.rpm
    in the rep /tmp
    removes the rpm ghostscript-fonts-6.0 et hylafax-4.2.0-1rh7.i386.rpm
    launches /tmp/SMERPFax.ins/SMERPFax_ins.sh
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    that should work but all in vain.

    You can get the logs from the menu 'Terminal' -> 'View log files' -> choice of category, if not from the console in \var\logs\messages (you have to look ..) and perhaps elsewhere I know. FYI, I use version 6.0.4 of hylafax since 3 months and no problem on my server (SME7.4 & Modem USRobotics - Special wanadoo is the last I have). I followed the tutorial in question, but I had to 'convert' Menu SMERPFax. From my readings, there is a problem with UTF-8, there is also a patch for it.

    I'd love to know what you use at the server-manager for hylafax. The options that you configure.

    Have you installed the contrib? (http://wiki.contribs.org/HylaFax)
    or just that of GLA ( http://smerp.free.com/files/binaires...1-1.noarch.rpm)

    At the site of hylafax, what did you install exactly?
    ( RHEL/CentOS 4 * x86 hylafax-client hylafax-server)

    I started to rebuild the gla rpm to be compatible with UTF-8. I wish we could configure several modems for example.

    If you could give me some ideas on what you use to hylafax, what you want and what you do for configuring the server hylafax-manager.

    Re: Problem with fax server

    My config works after several tries, it was not obvious at once (in my case).
    Not being a specialist, was a little galley! Crying or very sad. I have 2 SME 7.4 servers. A home that I use for testing and another which is at work in load test to replace a SBS2003. I need a service equivalent to the fax server Windows SBS.

    I think I read everything on hylafax and I mixed the installs. I followed the 'tutorial' of contribs when it comes to installing the last version of Hylafax by Chaloner and then follow the howto wiki on SMERPFax. Then I spent the UTF-8 patch to correct the 'panel'. On the client I have tried many clients in the site list but I use Hylafax YajHFC.

    For now, it gives me satisfaction. As I stated 2 Hylafax modems that I can choose the interface of the client. I had a problem in the declaration of user (FaxMaster) in hylafax server. I had to create it manually in the configuration file.

    SME 7.4 (updated)
    Hylafax-client.i386 => 6.0.4-1rhel4
    Hylafax-server.i386 => 6.0.4-1rhel4

    Clients
    WinXP Pro XP3 post (updated)
    YajHFC => 0.4.2a

    Have you installed the rpm SMERPFax? Or did you just follow the howto prose? Have you installed smeserver-hylafax? http://wiki.contribs.org/HylaFax

    I do not know. I just watched and it looks pretty. For me, I utilize software that I had to send a fax

    I think you have not installed rpm contribs (smeserver-hylafax or SMERPFax)
    2 add the user FaxMaster

    SMERPFax creates an entry in the server-manager to manage a modem. That's what I wanted to improve.
