Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system

I am using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and my browser is IE 8. Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system by the Avira antivirus that I have installed in my system. The problem is that when I try to delete the infection from the antivirus interface, no action happens. I cannot understand why this is happening. Kindly help me with some suitable solutions to get rid of this infection from the system.

    Use the manual deletion

I suggest you to use the manual deletion, if Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system. For this, you will have to search for the file called 1.exe in your system. When Artemis!71793DA68E21 enters into the system, it installs with the name 1.exe. So, after you have found this particular file in your system, start the task manager and kill the processes of this particular file. Then, go to the original location of the file on your system and then, permanently delete it. This will solve your problem.

    Artemis!71793DA68E21 is a trojan

Since, Artemis!71793DA68E21 is a trojan, I dont think that the manual deletion is such a simple task. So, I suggest you to format the system as soon as possible and install a fresh copy of operating system that you are using. If you keep the infection persisting in your system, it may also cause a system crash. Formatting is a very harsh method, but it is assured that your system will be protected from any destruction.

Update the database of the antivirus

If Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system, then update the database of the antivirus. The reason why the antivirus is not able to get rid of the infection may be because it is not updated. The updation is necessary, since the signatures of the new infections needs to be added to its database, so that it can find the infections and remove them if they enter the system. After updating, run a full system scan and delete all the infections that are found during the scan.

    Boot scan the computer

Boot scan the computer if Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system. This feature is available with the Avast antivirus. So, install this antivirus and start the boot scan. This scan takes place after restarting the system and that too, before the operating system loads. So, the infections cannot execute at this time and hence, they remain inactive. So, it simple to remove the infections during this time.

    An anti-malware will help

If Artemis!71793DA68E21 has been detected in the system, then an anti-malware will help. Spyware Doctor is a very good anti-malware and they are different from the normal antivirus as they can stay in the background and check fr the programs and applications that are causing malicious activities in the system. They remove such applications and programs as soon as they find the same.
