    Brastemp.exe virus?

    Hello,

    All of sudden from yesterday the file name with Brastemp.exe is running in my task manager, what Brastemp.exe ? is i didn't installed any software application and haven't made any changes to system from past few weeks. Could it be a internet infection? i want to its purpose in my system, as i do kill it , it backs in few moments. My system is XP SP2.

    Any info would be really thanks full.

    You may try following, to get rid of it:

    • Download Norton Security Scan , its free. Perform a free virus scan.
    • Also to make your pc free from spywares Download Ad-Aware
    • Perform a DISK CLEANUP as Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.
    • Also do the defrag of your hard disk partitions.

    Yes it could be a virus as searching for Brastemp.exe in Google doesn't gives any info about this application name to which it belongs and its author name. It’s not absolutely clear which product this file is part of and who is its author. Brastemp.exe. I would suggest update your antivirus and do a full system scan .

    This file is a virus. To remove it, download and unzip the Killbox , From C:\ brastemp.exe in Full path or file to delete, click the button with a red x, repeat the process for C:\WINDOWS\system32\system32.exe. Restart the computer in safe mode (press F8 while Windows is loaded), run HijackThis. Click Do a system scan only. Check the following entries: O4 - HKLM..Run: [brastemp] C:brastemp.exe, O4 - HKLM..Run: [system32] C:WINDOWSsystem32system32.exe e O4 - Global Startup: system32.exe. Click the Fix Checked. Restart the computer and it will be free of the virus.
