| Re: How to Configure LAN without DHCP server
To configure advanced DNS properties, go through this:- - Click on Advanced, then click the DNS tab.
- Configure an additional IP address of DNS server:
- Under DNS server addresses, in order of use, click Add.
- In DNS Server TCP / IP, type the IP address of DNS server, then click Add.
- Changing the behavior of the resolution for unqualified DNS names:
- To resolve an unqualified name by adding the suffix of the primary DNS server and DNS suffix of each connection (if configured), click Add DNS Suffix main and specific connections. If you also want to search the parent suffixes of primary DNS suffix to the second level domain, click to select the checkbox Append parent suffixes of primary DNS suffix.
- To resolve an unqualified name by appending the suffixes from a list of configured suffixes, click Append these DNS suffixes (in order), then click Add to add suffixes to the list.
- To configure a DNS suffix to a specific connection, type the DNS suffix in DNS suffix for this connection.
- Changing the behavior of the dynamic update of DNS:
- To use an update dynamic DNS to register the IP addresses of this connection and the primary domain name of the computer, click to select the check box Save this connection's addresses in DNS. By default, this option is enabled. The primary domain name of the computer is the primary DNS suffix appended to the name of the computer and can be viewed as full name of the computer in the Name tab of the computer available in the Control Panel under Properties system.
- To use an update dynamic DNS to register the IP addresses and domain name of this specific connection, click to select the check box Use the DNS suffix for this connection's DNS record. By default, this option is disabled. The specific domain name for this connection is the DNS suffix for this connection added to the computer name.
