Protowall is a firewall program runs in the background whose purpose is to prevent malicious intrusions on your computer. All incoming packets on your computer are analyzed by the software and then compared to a list of thousands of IP addresses and possibly rejected if the remote computer is listed!

    Follow this steps:

    • Do start -> control panel -> network connections then double click your connection. Then click on Properties. There you will see "Protowall", click it and click Uninstall.
    • Click Yes. Now click on Internet Protocol TCP / IP and Install. Then in the window that appears click Service and then click Add directory chosen by "program files" for our example. In the directory "Dudez" and "Protowall" and finally "xp_driver" fetch the file named "Protowall.inf" then do come open below, Then click OK. It will says that the driver is not digitally signed, do not worry click OK.
    • Here we installed the driver for your network card needed to run the software. Now go in the Start menu to test the proper operation of the program.
    • Now you must choose your network card connection currently active,If you are not sure it tells you the MAC address when selected below. In start-> run-> cmd type ipconfig / all and you have the MAC address of the current connection. Make sure it matches the one selected. Note that you also have the name of the ethernet card, with this you will get away.
    • Once this is all you do is click on Start , There you will need to add a line "Protowall started.
    • Note that if you want to have a log of events on specific IP addresses that have been blocked, simply click on View log ...

Protowall convenient for those who do P2P constantly. Blocks Trojans, spyware, the IP that you want and much more. But to make it even more effective you need the software "Blocklist Manager" that allows to download blacklists fps, a good way to update them. It is driver based,so it will Block the packets that are sent Before than most firewall's will ever see it.

Re: Blocking IP using Protowall firewall

The procedure to unblock is main downwards of implementing ip blocker because if you decide to block Google you will find the need to unblock whole ranges of IP's because Google and other large providers control many IP's which they seem to change on a regular basis. So if you are not careful, you will find yourself continuously unblocking IP's just to get to the web page you need.

The process of unlocking an IP is very straightforward, for this you just need to go into Options/Personal Sources and press Edit Exclusions, then you can either enter a range of IP's or a single Ip that you want to allow. Press OK and OK and then press Process on the main menubar to regenerate the list. You then have to use Export List to create a new block ip list, then remember on Protowall screen to press File/Load IP and then your IP or IP range will be unblocked.
