This is basically you need to assign or set the inbuilt account in the Western digital netcenter hard drive. You have to contact for the manufacturer for the same and then would be providing you with the same. So try to check out the issue for the same and hence you may then get to access via login. You need to enter the username and password to get access. Check out.

A security policy needs to be assigned in order to get accessed with the same. It was the thing that was not allowing to get access as I did not assign it before. All you need to do is to execute the run command application for MMC as typing secpol.msc and hit enter. Then expand the local polices and check out the security options. Now under the network security option you need look for LAN manager authentication level. Modify it to LM and NTLM by double clicking on it. If it is been negotiated then use NTLMv2 session security.

As you said that it was able to work well with Windows Xp operating system. It would be better that you run the program under the same by installing the compatibility tool for the same. That is you need to install the compatibility tool for Windows xp under Windows 7. This would enable you to work with the hardware as working under Windows Xp. This should work out well.

Upgrade the drivers for the hardware device that is been attached to the same. You need to re configure the address of the router and then install the updated drivers for the peripherals. After the installation of the updated drivers restart the system and then configure the router for the same. This may then help you out to sort the issue. Windows 7 been very sophisticated it needs updated drivers to work with.

There is a possibility that the execution or processing with the hard drive may be restricted and may not accessible with normal user account. Try to login using the admin account and then access to the same. If that do not work then you need to create an admin account by clicking on the start menu and then open control panel. Then select the user account and then create new account. Select manage account and then make the account type as Admin account. Now click on create account. Restart the system and login as admin the look out for the change.
