| Explorer slow due to Microsoft Security Essentials Explorer seems to be slow with security Essentials. If i select the files to be displayed in the list mode then the icons are displayed quite slowly. i am also having a toolbar on the taskbar set up for quick launch. Whenever i click on the toolbar and select show in order to display the shortcuts it always brings up a blank menu. It takes around 25-30 seconds to display the list shrotcuts also the taskbar is locked up. please help me in this matter. |

| Re: Explorer slow due to Microsoft Security Essentials
If you are very much certain that this issue is caused by the Microsoft security essentials then i would recommend you to temporarily uninstall the Microsoft security essentials and then check whether it is working properly or not. If it start working then re-install the Microsoft security Essentials. |

Hello friend as far as i know you should try to perform a clean boot on your system and then verify your system if this issue disappears hence i have mentioned the process of clean booting below please follow that *Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights. *Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility. *If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue. *On the General tab, click Selective Startup, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box. (Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.) *On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all *Click OK and then restart the System.

I am not aware of the actual problem but i think that you can get it solved by just creating another user account on to your system and after creating this account you should login with that account please do not forget that the newly created account must have the administrator privileges. |

It seems that your system might have been affected by some kind of virus. So you must try to install an antivirus and then scan the system using the antivirus. Heal or remove all the possible threats that are detected by the antivirus. You can also download and install the MBAM utility for scanning you system. |

| Re: Explorer slow due to Microsoft Security Essentials
I had faced the similar problem earlier with Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. I was fed up with this explorer problem since my system was taking around 3-4 minutes to open the explorer. In desperation i disabled the the self protection feature of the antivirus after start-up. Then re enabling it after few seconds. Try to find out some similar feature in your program |
