Hello
Have you tried the system restore? if no then do it first for the date when your system was working fine. Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore and then Select an available date wherein you think your computer was still working fine and then follow the rest of the instruction.
After this try to update the Antivir , if then aslo it refuses to work peoprly then simply reinstall it without wasting more time.
You can try out following steps:
- Unistall Avira using Avira Antivir removal tool, search for it.
- And then again downlaod it from here Avira AntiVir Personal
- After downloading reinstall it and run a full system scan.

I had the same issue with aecore.dll in Avira Antivir , problem resolved by disabling the windows defender, to disable Windows Defender go to Control panel -> Windows Defender -> Tools -> Options and uncheck "Use Real-Time Protection" and "Use Windows Defender", then save it.
I did suggest you to perform a repair install of Avira Antivir because it seems some files are corrupted in setup which can be resolve by the repair install. When you go to uninstall the Antivir it pffers your two options Modify and Remove, choose Modify and go through the wizard.
Steps to follow to resolve this issue:
- Click the Start button, then Run... and type cmd in the text box.
- Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter on your keyboard.
- Restart your computer.
- Go to Add or Remove programs in control panel and select Avira Premium Security Suite. Click Change then Modify, make sure all the boxes are checked, then Next.
- Restart your computer again.
