Stop Windows services to block viruses

Hi,
I had gone through a news on the internet which states that some services which are configured to run automatically on Windows startup open ups a backdoor on the system. This is basically the network attack. So I need some list of services that can be stopped or blocked in order to stop this viruses from entering my computer. Thanks in advance.

Re: Stop Windows services to block viruses

By default, the original configuration of Windows on the network is not very reliable often fraught with problems recurring (viruses, worms, trojans, BHO, rootkit, spam, popup, etc ... without forgetting the many security vulnerabilities continue to be discovered ...). The security of your PC starts by disabling unnecessary Windows services to continue the closure of ports considered critical and finally some good utility for a good protection. You simply stop them and use as you need.

Other than what is mentioned above there are more services which you can start stop manually. It is possible to that. and disabling them is necessary to avoid direct virus attack on the system. They are COM + System Application, Network Connection, Network DDE, Protected Storage, etc. Some these service are listed in the msconfig utility. You can run that and stop it.
