Network setup

Maybe somneone can help me here. My problem is how to setup a network using INFERSTRUCTER instead of AD-Hoc. Right now I have a network but it a Ad-Hoc network. Is there a differnt way of setting up a network without using a router????? Any help will be greatly welcomed.. , Thanks
