Drivers from windows 2003 most probably will not work on Winddows 2008. You can try drivers from Vista, they might work. Take a look in local or group policy under computer config --> Admin Templates --> Printers and set "Point and Print Restrictions" to "Enabled" and set the the 2 settings to "Do not show warning or elevation prompt".

What driver is on the print server? There's no Vista, W2K8, or 7 driver for the 4100 series printers. Try installing and using the HP universal print driver on the print server. Please make sure that the client users are allowed to connect to Windows Server, you may need to modify the Point and Print Restrictions setting and permit users to connect only to specific print servers that you trust.

Firstly please make sure that the printer is properly shared. Win2003 Admin Template for Point and Print options for GP are set in User Policy. Obtain 64 bit drivers for the printer in question and install it on the 64 bit computers. When I disjoined Win7 RC1 from the domain to investigate the Local Policy options, I noticed that Point and Print options were available via User AND Computer policy.

Use only network-connected printers, shared from the server, and you should be able to do this. Internet printing is a PITA as far as I know anyway. The easiest way is to download the x64 drivers for that device then rdp to print server and select printers the properties on the printer you want to install then sharing tab and click on additional drivers.Windows 2003 server come with two users licenses as default but that only for administrator only, if you need to add multiple users, then you need to buy user license.

It's possible that the printer you are attempting to connect to is not compatible with Windows 7. I would check with the Windows 7 Compatibility Center just to be sure. Tick the checkbox for x64 Windows XP and widows server 2003 then point to the inf file from the folder of the drivers you just downloaded. The when a user clicks on that printer it will ask if they want to install a driver.
