Cannot delete Trojan.FakeAV!gen14 virus

Hi, I am having zenith computer, and I am using windows xp operating system. While surfing on internet I got a popup about Trojan.FakeAV!gen14 virus. I thought it is some kind of antivirus program so I installed it. And now the entire system is messed up. It was actually a fake tool. Whenever I turn on my pc I am getting redirected to some other site and it is also taking a very long time to start a page. Want some help.

Remove Trojan.FakeAV!gen14 by using Avast anti virus like Avast anti virus software. So please down load the Avast with its official web site. Do the following instruction.

1. First download Avast anti virus.
2. Now Save Avast anti virus on your hard drive of your system.
3. Then double click on the saved file of Avast anti virus.
4. Then during installation it displays for custom or default option.
5. Then click on the default option.
6. Then follow the prompt of the displayed by the Avast anti virus.
7. After complete installation restart your system.
8. Now start scan your system with Avast anti virus to detect virus.

You can scan your machine with that Avast anti virus software. Just you have to boot your system in safe mode. Perform this steps.

1. Press stand by button of your computer.
2. While system booting you have to continuously press F8.
3. Then can see black screen with option on the desktop.
4. Then select Safe Mode and then press enter.
5. After loading your system in safe mode scan your system with Avast anti virus software.
6. Then delete the virus infected file which are detected by Avast anti virus software.

Hi friendz, I am having the same Trojan.FakeAV!gen14 virus in my computer. I did all the remedies what ever you said on your reply. So I had download and install an Avast anti virus software on my computer and scan my computer. And also scan my system with Avast in safe mode. And I have seen there is still some virus are remaining in my system. Can you tell me the other way to remove the entire virus.

It is not easy to manually remove this. You have to scan your pc with a good antivirus in safe mode and I am quiet sure that will help. You can use a trail edition of Norton Antivirus. Just download it and update. And then scan your system. If the virus blocks the installation then you can try using a bootable cd with antivirus on the same. It will be more effective and if nothing works just format and re-install windows.
