What are TCP and UDP Ports

HI,
I need some information on the concept of TCP and UDP Ports. First of all can anyone explain me how they work with different IP's. Basically I want to know how they work on a Network. I have two computer running on Windows. Both share a single workgroup just to and fro computing. Then how does the TCP/IP communicates and runs an network ring. Thanks in advance.

Re: What are TCP and UDP Ports

TCP/IP is a networking protocol. There are many devices and computer which are are connected with each other through the network. The platform which is used to interconnected with each other is TCP/IP. It is most easy way and widely used network protocol. This comes packed with the operating system and the information which is send and received is done by two methods called UPD and TCP.

The term TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol. This is used to sent data to a distant computer. TCP protocol, control protocol communications on Internet Protocol data transfer over networks and especially Internet. Transport protocol with connection mode prepared to complement the IP protocol to define the user interface. Corresponds to level 4 of the reference model and determine how to transform a stream of bytes in IP packets while ensuring the transmission quality.

Re: What are TCP and UDP Ports

User Datagram Protocol or UDP is the method of sending data packtes around the network. Protocol is used to send IP datagrams of an Internet application to another. UDP is used for sending short messages where a priori there is no problem of sequencing. It is said that the UDP is "connectionless" because unlike TCP, it does not require the sender and receiver to establish a connection before transmitting datagrams.

Re: What are TCP and UDP Ports

You are familiar that each and every device or computer which is connected to the internet has a specific number or address. This is called the IP address. This IP address help to identify a computer from the millions of connected computer all over the world. Lets takes a example of email. When a mail is sent the data is accepted by your computer using TCP or UDP port. IP is routable, the address may be changed along the way according to jump in different apparels connection. This routing allows redirects requests to a specified address to another address. This explains why TCP / IP is used in computer networks and the Internet.

ThumbsUp Re: What are TCP and UDP Ports

Several languages (protocols) can coexist on the same network. For that 2 computers can communicate, they should automatically speak at least one protocol. This seems insignificant, but if your communication is TCP / IP Internet and Netbuyer on the local network, it will be impossible for pirates to move from one computer to another through the network. There is even talk with a router to the Internet from a network, but that resource sharing on the network can be done by other protocols. Similarly, if you implant a share on a network, remove TCP / IP on the NIC of the computer keeps going on the Internet.
