Unable to remove W32/IRCbot.worm

Hello, I am using Windows xp operating system on my computer and Quick heal for protecting my computer from the antivirus. But, from few days my Quick Heal antivirus is detecting the virus with name as W32/IRCbot.worm but it is not able to clean it or delete it. So, if you know how to delete this particular virus then please reply me with the solution.

You need to update your antivirus software and then try for the deleting that particular virus from your computer. So, just make sure that your antivirus software is updated and then try to delete that particular virus from your computer. If your antivirus is updated then only it is possible to delete that virus from your computer.

I think you need to check for another Antivirus application such as below:

• Avast! Home Edition
• AVG Anti-Virus
• BitDefender
• F-Secure
• Kaspersky Anti-Virus
• McAfee VirusScan

W32/IRCbot.worm is basically a trojan and if your computer is infected with this particular virus then it will first inject itself in the Explorer.exe process and then create separate process from it and exit. Then it will also create the file hepfixs.exe in the path of %WINDOWS%\system32 in your computer. If process of this particular file gets killed then it will again reactivate itself. But, yes you can remove this Trojan if you use Mcafee antivirus.
