| How to share files on a Virtual hard drive
Hi, How to configure a Virtual hard drive. I want to setup a virtual desktop configured online. But I am not able to share files on it. I tried to share some files but the same is not accessible. Does anyone knows what are the proper settings for this. Also I need some information on different types of VHD presents in a system. Does that effects sharing. If yes then how to fix that thing back again. What are the free services available for the same. Thanks in advance. |

A virtual hard disk is a different storage space on your hard drive and usually exotic. This may be the RAM (in this case the virtual hard disk is generally used to store temporary documents, since its content disappears on reboot or termination of the computer) but it can also be a remote computer, connected by a network connection whatsoever (including internet). |

Here are some simple steps to configure a Virtual hard disk. This works better on Windows platform. I am using a free service called Microsoft's Windows Live Skydrive offers a free space of 5GB To access the service. For that you should have a Windows Live ID (basically you need a Microsoft, the you typically use for Windows Live messenger - msn if you prefer - if indeed you have this application). Other than this just follow the onscreen wizard. |

In order to create a Virtual disk the free service of Windows live is the best example. You can create a disk in that and then try to configure the same in your system only. To begin to create and manage virtual hard disk, you must visit the site Skydrive. Click the Start button and click your Windows Live ID (or create one if you do not) and enter your password. Then main screen of management gives you many options. You notice that some files are present by default like Documents, Music, Photos, Videos, Public and Sending files to share or store, |

You can simply add or remove any folders from the online VHD service by Microsoft. This reserves a 5GB space for you on the desktop. You can simply download the data from anywhere you want. Just select the files and click the Download button. This what is called a virtual drive. If you want an independent for your system then you will need applications or a virtual support based operating system. |

Windows VHD can offers you many options to use your file and access the same anywhere you want. At the bottom there is a text box labeled Web address (possibly available in each folder by clicking in the toolbar on Folder Options). It is useful if you want to make the contents of the folder accessible to some users (or everyone). Share it with those who will be allowed on your shared (we'll see how to change the permissions right after). To view the list of files in the folder, you must click on the big picture of a folder (with a lock on illustration). |
