    Viruses (programs that alter the normal functioning of the Operating System), to stay in our machine usually install themselves and attached a line of command to load when Windows starts, achieving encouraging the team. To shut it off so we have to do is the following:

    * click the Start menu button

    * click the Run

    * Write MSCONFIG and clicking OK command button

    A window opens that contains several tabs. Select the Start.

    You will notice 3 columns, one that mentions the startup items, other COMMAND and finally LOCATION.

    What we will do is uncheck the box (by clicking on the dove) to all applications we see strange (I know because they relate to the name of the application). For example:

    The iTunes application needed to load music on your iPod adds a startup item called "Launcher" and command indicates the installation path "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe" with this we note that this line is valid .

    If we see some line with startup item called "hzcer" and command indicates the installation path "c:\windows\system32", and we have no application installed with the name of hzcer, we know it is a virus, we proceed to uncheck the box to prevent it from running at logon to Windows and we click the OK command button. Reboot the machine

    To remove viruses from your hard drive if your computer does not boot, use the Live CD. The computer boots from the optical disk and the program starts scanning files on your hard disk. After treatment of viruses is required to back up data from your hard disk to external media. Then the hard disk is fully formatted, installed a clean copy of Windows and restores the saved data.
