Hi
Number of options you can try
1) First of all check you computer for virus, scan you computer thoroughly.
2) Reinstall the firefox (which uninstalling firefox be sure that you remove all the data i.e extension, bookmarks etc). And then install a fresh copy of firefox, if you need you can take a backup of the bookmarks.
3) You can run firefox in a safe mode, which is available in the installed firefox directory. Check if this works.
4) Temporally disable all the extension of you browser. May be some of the extension are corrupted.
5) Alternative you can create a new profile of firefox.
6) In the task manager you can kill the processes, by clicking on the end task button. Try killing all the firefox instances and restart it.
Thanks for the reply.
1.I have scanned. 5 viruses found but still the main thing is not resolved.
2.I can uninstall FF, but I have too much of bookmarks and passes saved, that I do not want to do. But still, I will give it a try.
3.FF in safe mode..My XP doesn't run on safe mode. It gets struch at mup.sys...
4. I have updated and reinstalled all extension..
5. new profile of firefox? I didn;t get that!
6. When I kill the tasks, they automatically restart. Even though the FF in not running, "firefox.exe" if there.
Try to start the browser in safe mode. To start the browser in safe mode type "firefox.exe\safemode" in the run tab. Check if the browser works properly or not. If the browser works properly then there is some problem with the application and the add-ons which are installed with firefox, therefore uninstall the applications and add-ons one by one and see if the problem persist.
Hey this the problem of the Malware which affect the registry of the computer. To get rid of the same you have to do the Following
- Restart computer in the safe mode
- Start the Registry Editor from the Start up menu
- Now look for the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components" and then find back up, and remove any sub-key(s) that *only* have a StubPath entry.
- Now delete the file
- Restart in the normal mode
And done hope that this will help you
