See if you can find the modem via ping, then you know that in any event the computer can connect to the modem. If you cannot ping the modem. Turn the modem off and after a half minute, On it and try again to ping. Then check the NIC and TCP / IP by pinging 10.0.0.150. Does that not, make sure the correct settings and the NIC is properly installed. Can you ping but not cable modem, sound card, etc. then you go on and call for a new modem to KPN.

Have tried the below things :

    • Turn modem off and on again and restart the computer
    • Run the configuration script MXS_Home Mxstream of the CD-ROM
    • Ensure that the NIC to 10 MB half-duplex state
    • Modem in DOS pinging or browser (address is 10.0.0.138)
    • Make sure the customer has a firewall installed, this is the case then disable it
    • cable between modem and network control and tamp
    • Check the IP address in TCP / IP of the Ethernet card in the network configuration
    • Additionally, look at TCP / IP Remote Access Adapter NOT the IP address and subnet mask
completed, but an automatic "IP Address" state.
    • Hard reset the modem back button by default

VPN Error 629 means the connection is broken by one of the following reasons:
    • Fatal error line.
    • Noisy line.
    • Turn off your system administrator.
    • Failure to negotiate with the modem remote access server at the selected speed.

In order to reestablish the connection, click Redial. You can also enable automatic redialing on the Options tab for the connection. If this error persists, reduce the speed modem connections up to 9600 bps, and then try to redial.

If you want to allow your PPTP client with Windows XP SP1 or Windows 2000 SP4 (or higher connection) to a PPTP server, which responds with a different IP address, you must disable the PPTP address validation. To do this, follow these steps. WARNING: Editing the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method may be causing serious problems. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft can not guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
    • Click Start, and then click Run.
    • Enter regedit in the Open box, the file name, and then click OK.
    • Locate the following subkey, where <is 000x for the network adapter for the WAN Miniport (PPTP driver):
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}\<000x>
    • Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    • Enter ValidateAddress, and then press the [ENTER].
    • Note: The default data value is 0 (off).
    • Quit Registry Editor.
    • Restart the computer.
