How to overcome the artemis trojan?

I have recently purchased the IBM desktop at my home. And from few days back, started using the internet. I use Windows Operating and anti-virus installed is AVG 7. I access lots of free ware site. And this me paid me a lot, because now my desktop is infected by artemis trojan. What does this Trojan do?? How to remove it?? I am very much frustrated, please help me out in this matter.

Firstly would tell you that a Trojan virus(i.e artemis trojan) is faulty computer program that will infect remote computers/desktop computer by changing the desktop or deleting data or deleting important files. Generally it known as a Trojan Horse, it appears as a software from a trusted source or legitimate file, therefore tricking users into opening it or downloading it. Take action and protect your personal computer files by learning to delete this Trojan virus. The AVG 7 you are using might b unlicensed or free version, which are not able to delete/prevent the Trojan's. So, install any licensed version and strong anti-virus software which can help you out.

Same problem with me. I have IBM computer at my home, and access the internet daily. Play lots of online games, download many freeware software, etc. But from last few days i have noticed that something is wrong with my computer, some of the files gets deleted, data becomes corrupted and many other things which i don't do it does on it own. Maybe this is trojan symptoms, so please help me in solving this problem as soon as possible, i feel very restless.

Have you tried to scan with your current AVG 7 anti-virus? Not found with this anti-virus then try to update the AVG, then scan your pc once again. If then also not able to remove trojan, then remove the AVG. Now, download or purchase Mcafee licensed version, then go in safe mode and install it. After installing do complete scanning, and check weather you remove it or not. And if you are not able purchase licensed version try once with Malwarebytes software which is free. Hope you can fix your problem

Don't get panic dear. The AVG you are using does have Anti-Spyware program in it or not?? IF it has then may you virus or spyware would be old due to which AVG is not delete/heal the Artemis Trojan. So i would recommend you to first update or download the latest definition of virus and spyware for AVG site. After doing this, re-scan the entire PC and see weather you delete or remove the trojan. Always make sure that your antivirus is fully updated and use the latest version of it.

Check that Artemis Trojan you found is showing any registry entry or not. or weather it us derived from any registry entry. Once you found then search for the registry entry from which the Trojan derived, which will start with "HKEY" followed by the file path. Go into Register Entry, delete that registry entry to confirm that the Trojan is removed. Close the registry entry, and restart your computer so that the changes can take effect. And check/scan you PC it would be removed and there will not detection of Trojan.
