    Infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302

A couple of days ago when I was browsing on the internet, I got an alert saying: Your system has been infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302. I did not download any suspicious stuff from the web and still I cannot understand how this infection got into my system. How does the computer behave when Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 enters into the system and now, how do I eradicate it? The operating system I am using is Windows XP Service Pack 3 with Opera 10 browser.

Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 acts as a malware when it enters the system. If your system is infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302, then it is responsible for all the malicious activities going within the system. So, normal antiviruses do not posses the ability of tracking them down. Removal method of Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 and other such malwares are the use of SPYWARES. They remain in the background and check for the malicious activities goin on within the system. It uses this technique to eradicate all types of infections. "Spyware Doctor" is a good example of such spywares. I use the same in my system to avoid such infections into my system.

Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 is a non-memory resident and parasitic virus. If your system is infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302, then it will frequently show the message: "The Pac-Man BLINKY Ghost is watching..". The virus searches for the .COM files and appends itself at the beginning of the file. Inorder to remove it from the system, start Windows in safe mode and run a full system scan. It will surely eradicate the infection. You can use this removal technique if any other infections enter your system.

    Re: Infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302

The removal method of Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 is a typical one that many of the people do not know. This method is called as BOOT SCAN. Boot scan, as the name suggests is a scan enabled before the booting of Windows or its startup. At such time, the virus is inactive as it cannot execute before Windows can load. So, this is the best time an antivirus can easily eradicate such infections from the system. If you fell that your system is infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302, then I suggest you to use Quick Heal antivirus that has this feature of boot scan built-in with it. Boot scan is not provided by all the antiviruses.

If your system is infected with Pac-Man.Blinky.1302, then it is a trojan horse. Infections like Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 that belong to the trojan family look like legitimate or genuine programs from outside, but internally they are a progarm with infectious codes in them. Any unsuspected user may click on its its link because of which it gains entry into the system. You have to use formatting as the removal method of Pac-Man.Blinky.1302 because it has been an extreme case of trojan horse infection which cannot be removed by an antivirus by mere scanning.
