I am studying the concepts of the firewall in the internet security.What are the advantages of the using packet filter firewall in the internet security? I have got though different book, but still not getting it .

If anybody aware about the advantages of the packet filter firewall then please let me know that.

Packet filter firewall give protection to the private local area networks from the internet hostile intrusion. This Firewalls give authority to administrators of the network to give access to particular internet services to users of the local area networks.

Packet filters take decisions on the basis of the each packets, It doesn't take decision on the basis of the traffic context. An which increases the vulnerability over internet.
