2wire modem

RTRG here. I am new to this forum and not very good with tech stuff. A friend uses a 2wire 2701 HGB modem/router. I am setting up a second computer for her. I am installing a GIGABYTE brand wireless card. Can someone tell me in simple terms how I access the router and DISABLE the security so the card can connect with the modem. I needed to do the same thing for my DLINK router so it could connect with the NETGEAR card I use. Thank you. reeltoreelguy@gmail.com I presume the steps are different.

If the power light is red when the adapter is plugged in, the adapter is bad. Disable the PVC search function. Also in the configuration menu, set the VPI value to 0 and the VCI to 35. These values can vary depending on your service provider, so note your original values before you change them. I had a 5v adapter from some other item, so i cut the cord off the 2wire and attached it to the temporary replacement. It worked for me.
