Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system

On opening a download from the web, I got a security alert from AVG antivirus that Win32.Small.cb has been detected in my system. At first, I ignored this alert, but i kept getting these alerts repeatedly in an interval of 2 minutes or so. Then I tried to delete it as a power user, but still no use. I get a message that cant remove Win32.Small.cb. Someone else is using this program. I want a method of removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system. What must have been the infections that it must have done in my system?

Re: Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system

Win32.Small.cb is trojan horse program, which means that it appears to be a genuine or good program or software but, when installed on the system has harmful effects. Trojans do not increase in number, that is they do not have the power to replicate, but indeed they are too destructive as they can download malicious codes or softwares from the web. Trojans are classified based on the type of infections they do.
The Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system needs formatting of the current OS and installing a fresh version of the OS you want.

Re: Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system

The Win32.Small.cb is a trojan that does the extraction of the following 2 files from itself and executed these files onto the system:
    • %WinDir%\msin32.dll
    • %WinDir%\svchost.exe

Once these 2 files get executed onto the system, it begins to download malicious contents from the net. This the the basic job of any trojan.
The Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system means the eradication of these 2 files, which are detected by Kaspersky Antivirus.

Re: Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system

Removal of Win32.Small.cb from the system requires the following steps to be performed. This is a manual deletion:
    1. Start the Task Manager and look out for the process of the trojan.
    2. Terminate it as soon as you find it.
    3. Delete the file that you terminated, that is the trojan file.
    4. Next, delete the following files:
      • %WinDir%\msin32.dll
      • %WinDir%\svchost.exe
      • %WinDir%\nostar.ini
    5. After that, the registry value needs to be deleted which is shown below:
    6. [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
      "svchost" = "%WinDir%\svchost.exe"
    7. The database of the current antivirus needs to be updated and after that a full scan of the system needs to be performed.
