How to Refresh the TCP/IP in Win 7?

I am not able to refresh my TCP/IP in Windows 7. I know to refresh it in other operating system like XP/Vista and Linux. The netsh command is used to refresh your TCP/IP in Windows XP and Vista. I am tying to do the same in Windows 7 but its not working. Does Windows 7 has some other command or procedure to refresh TCP/IP. Can anyone guide how to refresh TCP/IP in Windows 7. Explain step by step.

First go to the Start Program. Then click Run, a dialog box will appear. Type cmd and press OK. You can also start command prompt from Accessories which resides in Start Program. Once the command prompt window appears, type the following commands to release and renew your TCP/IP address : ipconfig / release and ipconfig / renew. If you want other ipconfig commands then type ipconfig /? This command will output the listing of relevant command line parameters and an explanation of each of them. Hope this will help you a lot.

The following are the steps to configure your TCP/IP address in the Windows 7.
    1. Click the Start Button and go to the Control Panel.
    2. After going into Control Panel, Click “Network and Internet” and then proceed by clicking “Network and Sharing Center.”
    3. Then go into “Manage network connections.”
    4. Choose the Internet connection you would like to change. Right click on it and select “Properties.” tab.
    5. Then click the “Networking” tab.
    6. Choose either Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).(Mostly prefer TCP/IP4 if your connection is older)
    7. Click on “Obtain an IP Address Automatically” to reset your IP address automatically. Then click OK.
    8. Click “Use the following IP Address” to enter your own IP settings if you want to enter the IP address manually. Enter your IP address into the boxes marked “IP Address,” “Subnet Mask” (or “Subnet prefix length for IP/TCPv6) and “Default gateway.”
Check properly whether you had entered IP address is Correct.

The above given settings wont help you in sorting out your problem then try this troubleshooting. To use Network Diagnostics, follow these steps:
    1. Click Help and Support located in Start Menu.
    2. Click the link to Use Tools to view your computer information and diagnose problems, and then click Network Diagnostics in the list which is presented on the left.
    3. When you click Scan your system, Network Diagnostics gathers configuration information and performs automated troubleshooting of the network connection.
    4. After the process is completed, look for any items that are marked "FAILED" in red, expand those categories, and then view the additional details about what the testing showed. You will able to sort out your TCP/IP problem.
