CleanVirus.vbs in Transcend 8GB pen-drive

My 8GB Transcend pen-drive has a CleanVirus.vbs folder. I presume it is a virus although I am not sure about it. When I had bought this new Transcend pen-drive some four or five months ago it was not having this folder. But now it alsways shows this folder. How can I remove this unwanted folder? How to format my pen-drive from command prompt?

Re: CleanVirus.vbs in Transcend 8GB pen-drive

Go to the Start menu and open the command prompt or type cmd in the run search box. Type the pendrive folder name followed by : sign. Now type 'attrib' and press enter. If there is file CleanVirus.vbs, check its attributes. Now type attrib -s -h -r and press enter. Now you can simple delete the virus by typing the virus name eg. Delete CleanVirus.vbs and press enter. This will delete CleanVirus.vbs from your pendrive.

Re: CleanVirus.vbs in Transcend 8GB pen-drive

You can format your Transcend pen drive from the DOS prompt completely. Open the DOS prompt. Now type Format, pen drive name and colon sign ' : '. And click the Enter key.
eg.
If your pen drive is H drive then,
Format H:
This will format your pen drive along with its file structure. Thus after formatting your pen drive it will be restored to the same state as it was when you bought it new.

Re: CleanVirus.vbs in Transcend 8GB pen-drive

I also had a similar kind of a virus which I was not able to delete from my 4 GB Scandisc USB drive. Even using my anti virus I was not able to get rid of this CleanVirus.vbs virus and it would re-appear everytime I attached my pen drive to my desktop. I then downloaded AVG Internet Security and scanned then scanned my pen drive using it. This helped me to delete the virus.
