Problem of new folder.exe

Hi friends i am using windows XP service pack 2 Operating system. but i have new folder.exe in each and every folder of my computer. if i delete this folder it gets created again automatically.is it a type of Virus or something else? How can i remove this from my computer? is this virus harmful for data stored on my computer? what are the possible threats to the computer by this virus? does this virus leads to system crash or hard disk crash?

I think it is do not a big threat like Trojan or any other virus. This virus most probably enters with the pen drive in the computer. When we connect any pen drive with this type of the virus it gets copied to the hard disk. and creates a copy of itself in each folders on the machine. It can be removed by using updated Antivirus program will detect and delete it. You can use AVG antivirus for this....
