    Making a proxy with ipcop

I tried to install a squid proxy and squidgard on ubuntu but I having problem installing ubuntu squid squidgard webmin.

I remembered ipcop that existed and I ask myself a question.

    1 - I installed ipcop in a virtual machine
2 - During the installation it goes very well, disk and network card detected ....

Now I want to know how the comments configuration of the network portion.
No I have that one network card which I think should be sufficient to just install a proxy.

Ipcop can not be reduced to a proxy!
It is the FIRST firewall with normally
    - 2 network cards,
    - A very special position in relation to the network and the Internet
    - NEVER as a VM (except for testing and yet if you master a number of networking concepts).

In short, this issue, as presented, will certainly not more specific response.

A question: frankly, with so little information about your network, you really have an answer?

I've stuffed the site Squid SquidGuard and I am arrived ... And without webmin "Quite frankly, with just a little thought there happens because there is not that much parameters ...

Re: Making a proxy with ipcop

In the company, there is a router 192.168.0.254, 5 pc of 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.5, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and free dns

On my pc, that always works, I connect virtualbox with virtual machines. I have already installed ipcop but as I told it that I do not know what to choose network conf. My goal is simply to filter out connections from the Internet (security) and my ipcop is 192.168.0.14 with a single network card

    Do you need more details.

In addition ipcop distrib is lighter than ubuntu

Well, there is already some information... It's not better?

5 mics, it's not much, but this is a reason for "tinkering"? Virtualization with Virtualbox but rather to evaluate than to put into production, right?

Why not consider a dedicated (old) according to a micro "firewall - proxy - server internal mail - file sharing" as SME?

SME is a very consistent and could be adapted or which could lead to further.

In addition, through the purchase of a domain through a host with some standard boxes + website, each user has his box on the SME with an address "pro" (and not xxx@foo.com making "particular").

(The good config for SME would be on "server + gateway". It can probably be evaluated with VirtualBox.)
