    Re: How vpn tunneling works

Virtual private network technology is based on the idea of tunneling. A VPN is a private network that uses a public network (usually the Internet) to connect remote sites or users together. The two connection between of a virtual private network are created over logical connections of the larger network. VPN supports two types of tunneling - voluntary and compulsory. Both types of tunneling are commonly used. Depending on the type of VPN (remote-access or site-to-site), you will need to put in place certain components to build your VPN.

    Re: How vpn tunneling works

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) give the secure connection over public network and advanced connections through a non-secure network by providing data privacy. VPN Tunneling Protocols enables the encapsulation of a packet from one type of protocol within the datagram of a different protocol. VPN Tunneling is a connection between two connection - a VPN Router, for instance - in different networks that allows private data to be sent securely over a shared or public network, such as the Internet.

    Re: How vpn tunneling works

VPN Tunneling is a network technology that encapsulates packets at the same level or below. The Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP) creates a VPN tunnel that travels over Secure-HTTP, One type of packet is encapsulated within the datagram (packet in TCP/IP or UDP containing source and destination address) of a different protocol.
