Windows Live Onecare doesn't start

Hi,,, i am a Windows Vista user. Yesterday i removed my previously installed Antivirus form my system, that was Windows Defender and installed Windows Live onecare. There was no problem while installing, but when i am trying to run this Antivirus service, it just doesn't starts. I don't have any idea about this product. Do you guys know how to fix this problem ? Please make me know too. Thanks in advance..

Re: Windows Live Onecare doesn't start

I am not sure about this issue with Windows Live Oncare, but i'll suggest you to restart the service and try again. To do so, Open your command Prompt , right click and select Run as Administrator. Now type the following commands, and then press ENTER after each command:
Quote:
  • net stop winss
  • net start winss
  • exit
Winss belongs to Windows OneCare Live Service and is a variant of the Backdoor.Sdbot family of worms and IRC backdoor Trojans.

Make sure it is not stopped from Terminal Services. To make sure, go to the Start Search box, type services.msc, and then press ENTER. In the list of services, right-click Terminal Services, and then click Properties. Next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected. Next to Service status, make sure that Started appears. If Started doesn't appear, click Start. Click OK, and then close the Services window. Restart your computer.

Re: Windows Live Onecare doesn't start

If still you face the problem, just try to run Windows Live OneCare Boot.ini repair tool. Hope this can fix the issue for sure. Here is how to do the same:-
  • Restart your computer.
  • Visit the OneCare boot.ini repair tool download website, click Download, and then click Save.
  • Select a location where you want to download the repair tool, and then click Save.
  • Go to the location where you downloaded the repair tool.
  • right-click the RepairBootIni.exe file, and then click Run as administrator.
  • Click Run to start the repair tool. If you're running Windows Vista and you receive a User Account Control message, click Continue.
  • When the repair tool starts, click Continue.
  • Read the licensing agreement. If you agree to it, click I accept the terms of the End?User Licensing Agreement, and then click Continue.
  • Click Repair.
  • After the repair tool finishes, click Close.
Thats it..

Also try updating the program and our anti-virus signatures at the same time through the support page of the program's website. For some more Windows Live Onecare troubleshooting just go through this : Windows Live OneCare stopped working
